MAXACE ZIRCON - CPM S110V BLADE

Another great knife from  the Midnight Cat Design team and Maxace, the Zircon is a more traditional folding knife design but made as a modern Titanium frame lock and with top of the line CPM S110V steel.

The Zircon comes in two models - one with Zirmascus inserts and one with copper powder Carbon Fiber inserts.

The Zircon runs on bearings - just a single row due to its very slim design. Made to be opened with two hands like a traditional pocket knife the Zircon can also be opened faster with a middle finger flick using the long and wide nail nick. (see the video)

Featuring a slim gentleman's profile and only weighing 120 grams for the Zirmascus and 95 grams for the Carbon fiber model it's sure to become an EDC favorite.

The slim 96mm S110V steel blade is long enough to get the heavier jobs done. The S110V blade is hardened to 61HRC so it is not brittle like some other S110V knives we've seen on the market.

Available in very limited numbers like all Midnight Cat knives.

What is Zirmascus

Zirmascus is made by combining Zirconium which is a lustrous grey / white metal and titanium. It is made similar to Damascus steel by layering the two metals together, heating it and folding the metal many times. Combining two (or more) different colored metals allows it to form dark and light patterns in the finished metal which is brought out by etching in an acid bath.

The colors are then created by heat treating the metal - generally done by hand with a blow torch.  Different colors can be achieved by applying more or less heat depending on what results are wanted.

The materials are expensive and the process is time consuming which is why most knives with Zirmascus feature mainly small highlights and not large inserts like the Zircon.

Zirmascus is not the same as Timascus which is a combination of two or more types of Titanium alloy.

Comes with a storage pouch and cleaning cloth
