THE WEASEL - ROLF HELBIG DESIGN

TRolf came up with the designs for the Foosa and the Weasel because he wanted to return to a time when the knife was a simple, common sense cutting tool. The Weasel uses a more modern handle design along with a similar classic blade type which is modest, ergonomic, and extraordinary functional. It is a clean and sleek design by Rolf Helbig with a non-locking double detent slip joint mechanism. Model T2020A5 is built with a stonewashed 154CM drop point blade and brown micarta handle. The 154CM blade provides a reliable edge that delivers solid cutting performance in outdoor and urban environments alike. The Ball Bearing system provides smooth opening.

The Tanto model of this knife is the Foosa.

Both the Foosa and the Weasel are double detent slip joints with flippers for easy opening and closing. It also makes them legal in countries that have laws against locking folders.

My first pick for a double detent slip joint is the Civivi App Drifter, and the Kansept Weasel comes a close second.

Blade: nicely ground and a very useful shape.
Action: not quite right, like most double detent slip joints.
Handle: comfortable, slightly radiused, but not great.
Fit and finish: very good.
Comparison: if you want two double detent slip joints buy the Civivi App Drifter and the Kansept Weasel.
