The CENTURION

Designed by Sam Tuo and Scott Lawson (manufactured by Tuya Knife)

Centurion is a Latin / Roman name for the commander of  a standard section of 100 men of the Roman Army. The Centurions were tough career soldiers who led from the front of the battle and were often rewarded for their heroism.

With a spear point 3.75 inch M390 blade it will cut fast and true. A great size for an EDC knife.

The titanium handle features unique shredded carbon fiber inserts in grey, red or blue. The black anodized titanium fittings finish off what is a great knife from Miguron Knives.

Flipper, ball bearing action. Steel Lock Insert.

    Big, Bold, and Beautiful.

If I was going to be the hero in a sword and sandals epic, then this is the pocket knife I would want to eat my haunch of spit roasted goat.

Once again, Tuya Knife has shown us why we should pay attention to knives they make. The build quality of the Centurion is equivalent to We Knife, with a focus on details leaning toward Reate territory.

The blade is big, stylish, and surprisingly well ground for cutting. I feared that it would be a sharpened pry-bar and was pleasantly surprised when I discovered how thin it is behind the edge.

The handle is made for a big hand, but is still comfortable for my mid-sized hands. The handle is radiused and all of the potential sharp edges have been chamfered.

I am a sucker for S shaped bolsters, and the fit between the titanium and the carbon fibre does not disappoint. I can feel the join between the two materials, but there are no gaps or bumps. This single example of design and execution illustrates how good knives made by Tuya Knife are going to be.

The thumb studs feel good and work well, but I wish they had been stop pins on the Centurion. Such a robust knife would have gained even more hard use appeal if the studs had served a structural purpose.

The flipper and flipping action are very good. The Centurion has the best drop shut action of any knife I own.

The pocket clip is nicely designed and works well.

The Centurion is a reasonably heavy knife, but it would feel weird if such a substantial folder felt light.
